Aviation
The Aviation Department of the Islands Development Company is based at Pointe Larue, about 1 km south of the Seychelles International Airport. The Department is responsible for IDC's fleet of aircraft and runs flight charter services to the islands.
Department Structure
The IDC Aviation Department comprises four sections: Aircraft Maintenance, Flight Operations, Ground Operations and Aviation Security. Across these four sections, IDC Aviation employs 60 staff.
The Department is responsible for IDC's fleet of five planes: three Beechcraft B-1900, a Tecnam STOL and a Y-12. Further details on the IDC fleet can be found below.
Activities & Objectives
The aim of the IDC Aviation Department is to provide transportation for IDC workers, visitors and investors, taking them to and from the different islands managed by the company, helping to ensure IDC's islands are properly supplied, serviced and connected whilst also assisting their economic development and their conservation needs. The Aviation Department also provides chartered flights to the islands.
Flight Charter
The Aviation Department operates charter flights to the following islands: Alphonse, Assomption, Astove, Coëtivy, Desroches, Farquhar, Ile Plate Providence and Praslin.
