The Islands
The beautiful and remote outer islands of Seychelles are spread over half of the country’s Exclusive Economic Zone. The Islands Development Company was incorporated in April 1980, to create a structure to enable the economy of the outer islands to be developed.
The Islands Development Company are now responsible for sixteen outer islands, some of which are atolls and for Silhouette, situated within the inner islands group.

Alphonse
Situated 400km southwest of Victoria. It consists 174 hectares of land and a lagoon of 540 hectares. The Alphonse group includes St. Francois atoll, comprising two islands: Bijoutier and St. Francois.

African Banks, Etoile & Boudeuse
African Banks (235 kilometres from Victoria), Étoile (305 kilometres) and Boudeuse (330 kilometres) are uninhabited islands of the Amirantes. In 2022, the government leased these three islands to IDC for conservation purposes.
