Ensure that the Company’s IT needs are met through liaison with management and other third parties. Plan, review, recommend and implement information technology that supports the mission, objectives and activities of the Company. Develop, review and implement policies to effectively control growth, costs and operations of the function in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s objectives. Hire, train and manage Information Systems staff to ensure effective and efficient delivery of IS services within the Company. Day-to-day maintenance and management of computer systems to ensure a reduction in total cost of IT ownership. Ensure relevant and timely dissemination of information to staff at all levels within the Company.
Develop and recommend annual IT budgets and control expenditure in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s policies and targets. Advise and support end users on all IT related matters, including coordinating and delivering training where necessary. Design and implement Local and Wide Area Networks including the maintenance and administration thereof to ensure availability, reliability, security and optimum performance. Design, encode, implement and maintain computer programmes, including internet and intranet applications. Maintain and ensure security of computer system, networks and data. Undertake feasibility studies. Undertake any other relevant task as directed by the CEO.
Qualifications in Computer Technology with post qualification experience, plus 10 years minimum business experience in computer systems management, systems analysis, systems design and programming. Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels. Ability to negotiate on behalf of the Company with third parties in relation to computer hardware and software.
